9月24日 "IT" bag Mulberry is launching a new "IT" bag for SS 2010 -- "Alexa", which is named after Alexa Chung. She got a very unique fashion taste and Mulberry fits her perfectly. I was wondering why it is called an "IT" bag. Clearly not from "Information Technology". Then I thought it was about all of the seasonal bags named after celebrities. Anyway, I was completely wrong...... Definition of the "IT" bag (zz from Wikipedia): The term was coined in the 1990s with the explosive growth of the handbag market in fashion. Designers vied to produce one bag that would sell hundreds of thousands of units by becoming the bag "of the moment" -- a single handbag style that would spread like wildfire in popularity through the intertwined worlds of fashion and celebrity, aided by clever or just plain lucky marketing. To make it more clear, here is another explanation: An "It-Bag" is a designer handbag that is deemed the "must-have" item of the moment as a result of a combination of celebrity usage, clever marketing techniques, superior quality and their ability to represent the mood of the season. They are generally produced in limited edition quantities. Some famous "IT" bags: 1. Hermes Birkin -- Jane Birkin with her Birkin bag Not only the most famous, but also the most expensive handbag in the world. The regular version costs the same as a basic toyota yaris, not mention those with special leathers and limited editions. Ironically, this design is inspired by Jane Birkin's demand of getting a bag to hold everything for her new born. The "Hermes" brand and the all hand-built process become the primary factor contributing to the high price of this "diper" bag. Now the Birkin bag is more a symbol of luxury, class, and high-end fashion. Some people might say this is the most over-priced handbag ever, but none of the comments could stop the continued desirability of Birkin Bags. If you are interested in getting your very own Birkin, you can have a waiting time up to 2 years.  2. Chanel 2.55 -- Coco and the famous bag She is strong, she is fashion, she is classy, she is fabulous, and she is Coco Chanel. Coco Chanel invented this shoulder bag to free her hands. Karl Lagerfeld released a second version in 2006, called "reissue". I think the classic ones look good in caviar and the reissues are good in lamb. A medium/large classic flap was my dream bag until I saw it in Chanel counter of Neiman Marcus. It is way too small than I've expected. Probably only holds a small wallet, 2~3 keys with absolutely no key chain or a teeny tiny charm, and a medium-sized cell phone. The next size is called "jumbo", which is a little big for a lazy bag. And that's how I saved two thousand dollars.  3. Chloe Paddington -- The commercial picture The paddington bag was considered to be the quintessential "Boho-Chic" bag. It was super popular in the first few years when it was launched. You can see it everywhere, on the street, TV shows, and fashion magazines. Even the replicas made a big sale. I bought the first generation of the Paddington in black a couple of months ago. But the leather and hardwares were so heavy that the empty bag weigh ~4 lb. After filling it with all of my stuff, it was cutting into my shoulder. Even though I liked the bohemian style, I backed off for this bag. The second generation is designed to be much lighter but the popularity has been faded as time passed by.  4. Balenciaga 'City' Motorcycle --- Mary Kate Olsen and her City BBag The brand of Balenciaga is most famous for its line of motorcycle-inspired handbags. They are made of distressed goat leather, which is what gives them unique, relaxed shape. The 'city' bag in particular, it is light-weighted, functional, and stylish. It becomes the official choice for notorious fashionistas like MK Olsen, Nicole Richie, etc. I just bought a city bag in pomegranate, a dark red launched in F/W 2009. So excited about my new bag!  5. Marc Jacobs Stam -- Jessica Stam carrying the bag inspired by her The Stam handbag might be the most famous one in Marc Jacobs Collection. But it is so not my cup of tea, not even in my top 3 MJ list. The bag features quilting and gold hardware similar to that of classic quilted Chanel bags, but different itself with it's relaxed look. This is another heavy bag with long gold/silver shoulder chain. The 'Cecilia' bag is a similar design but much cuter in the way it looks.  6. YSL Muse -- Jennifer Aniston and Muse The Yves Saint Laurent muse is a status bag of high quality. This oversized structured tote expertly minimalist gold hardware. I would like to get one if there is a good discount.  7. Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 30 -- Audrey Hepburn with Speedy 30 Speedy 30 is more of a mainstay classic than a trend, but that doesn't stop it for maintaining "must-have" status all year around. I love my speedy 30 in damier, and I would love it more if there is a shoulder strap to set my hand free.  The "Alexa" bag. It is a relaxed bag as I dress casual to work or hanging out with my girlfriends. It definitely has caught my eyes. However since I will be very tight on my luxury budget next year, I would like to see one in real life before making any decisions. The shape and design of the bag should be able to stand the test of time, plus the excellent leather by Mulberry, it may make a classic, or as least a popular one in next spring and summer. ![[Mulberry_SS2010-2.jpg]](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nbYdNetvTOg/SrEBIxsiXBI/AAAAAAAAL4g/EuKw_H7s--M/s1600/Mulberry_SS2010-2.jpg) 9月21日 网络小说那些事儿 刚上班的时候特别迷网络小说，一口气读了有半个人高（如果是出版图书的话），后来发现故事的相似度太高，高到就连有趣的语言都没有办法激起我阅读的兴趣，就歇下来了。近日从教主那里拿了一本辛xx的《许我向你看》，昨晚一个小时就看了小半本，才恋恋不舍的睡觉去也。发现我对中文书的认同度果然要高出英文书好N十倍，简直就是一目十行和十目一行。陡然发现这些书用来打发时间是大大的好，比浪费在网上还是要有意思的多。而且，同样的一个故事，一字不差，打印在纸上就是比方在屏幕上看得舒服，也显得很有调调。 网络小说的写手，大多都是女人；网络小说的读者，大多也都是女人。女人的大脑褶子多一点，里面存的都是挚爱的故事。如果不能活在故事里，她们就写一个出来，一个又一个，憧憬着传说中的美好爱情。这句话的点在‘憧憬’。女主角都是平凡而倔强的，淡定着面对人生大起大落，笑看云卷云舒。男主角都是极其出色的，却偏偏又对女主一往情深痴心一片。然后中间经历过一些xxoo的狗血情节，王子和公主从此过上了幸福的生活，他们有时一天…… 有时一天……  ，OVER。故事架构都一样的时候，文笔才是最能吸引人的地方。推荐一个我最近很喜欢的笔风：mitbbs散文版的晕猫(faintcat)。用的是那种很破落的小资文风，很纽约。 会让人恍然觉得，故事是渺小的，迷人的因为它在纽约。 9月15日 Danish Diet 经过和成果汇报 话说有一日我终于受不了自己反反复复的减肥决心和从来都只有计划没有变化的体重，其实早就受不了了，但种种祖传秘方对我好像都不太见效，也许还是意志不坚决的缘故。哎，谁说的来着，连自己体重都控制不了的人怎么控制自己的人生。 食谱贴一下先。我用的是google出来的版本：
这个江湖方子看起来很容易坚持，因为一天三顿都有吃的，而且有肉有菜有水果，也有少量的面包。食物种类的变化也比较多，比什么黄瓜减肥，苹果减肥，鸡蛋减肥，苦瓜减肥等等都要丰富的多。头六天和后六天是完全重复的，只有第七天不太一样，午饭和晚饭里面只能挑一个吃，但是有羊肉，做好的还是很香很香的。而且能从前六天坚持下来的人食量都会大大的减少，我的第七天就是中午的羊肉太好吃了，搞得晚上tom的生日party上完全没有食欲。最痛苦的是头三天，因为饭量需要暴减，同时没有淀粉和碳水化合物，也没有糖，对于喜欢吃甜食的同志们（比如我）是一个巨大的挑战。还好我也喜欢吃肉，生活里总是有些盼头。到了第三第四天一下子把肉也去了，换成全蔬菜和水果，我个人非常不喜欢吃菜，所以基本上只吃了方子里面有的非蔬菜类。不过这时候胃已经缩小了一点，也没有很难受，甚至还步行来回了VONs。 成果汇报：头一个礼拜减了5~6 lb. 基本每天一磅，后一个礼拜1~2 lb. 属于保持阶段。据说第一个礼拜虽然体重掉的多，但是体形上的变化需要在第二个礼拜才看得出来，因为身体要反应的时间等等。但是朋友们都非常合作，从我开始减肥的时候起，每次见到我都大力赞扬我的减肥效果，搞得我自信满满的样子，嘿嘿…… 后记：对于想减肥又不想非常非常饿又没有什么毅力的人来说，Danish Diet还是很值得一试的。最重要的是经过这么一折腾，我开始相信肥也是能减下来的，火车也是能吹得动的，共产主义也是能实现的，谢谢！ |
